Blog Love

When Janet from the blog Postcard Fiction bestowed me with my second Liebster Blog award, I happily accepted it with a smile. An award? I’m okay with that!

Liebster Blog award

Liebster The Second.

As well as thanking the blogger who awarded me (thanks again Janet!), the second rule here is to pass on six things that bring me joy:

1. M&M’s

2. My parents

3. My friends (including my blogging buddies)

4. A mug of Tetley tea first thing in the morning

5. Blue sky

6. Seeing a smile

What The…

What the heck… What the noodle… What the snowshoes…

No, not every phrase works well and is memorable. The poet often wants to create unique images that will stay in the reader’s mind however images can not be so obscure that the reader loses the message along the way.

Lose the reader = words go unread = goal to educate reader is not achieved.

This is christyb, I hope I hope I am making sense.

Take Notes

I Read And Listen

Have you ever wondered if people are actually reading what you have written? Perhaps you contributed a poem to a blog. Did you think, “I wonder if anyone read this?”

Sure, the page was opened 32 times according to WordPress statistics but did anyone really read it? And the next question is, “Did readers understand what I wrote?”

Good questions.

Aha you see where this is going. Or you don’t and continue reading the next line.

Are you able to follow my posts here? Are they too long? Do you prefer I post more opinion and less poetry or vice versa?

I love hearing from you, my followers rock my WordPress World!

And yes I would like a slice of cheese with that line. Havarti please, sliced thinly.

Friendly In An Electronic Way

WordPress and I are friends. Good friends. We’ve moved past the acquaintance phase and into the realm of friendship.

Friend versus acquaintance? How do I know for sure? Lists are helpful, let’s try making one.

  • We have spent hours alone together
  • I have expressed frustration and joy in the presence of WordPress
  • I am getting to know the inner workings or insides of WordPress. I liken the “category” options of the program to feelings.

Yes,

we are definitely friends.

Poets And Electronics

Poetry in the modern age.

Poets use computers, related software, and recording devices to organize themselves and get the thoughts out of their heads. The technology allows for quick release of thoughts into recorded form, resulting in one poem or even several of them. Now whether the poems will ever see the light or an audience is another topic altogether …

While helpful, there is likely much stress for a poet when the computer gets a glitch or worse yet a virus. We often depend on computers as a part of our writing process. If I was apart from WordPress however would I survive?

But add perspective. Absolutely I would still get through my day. I know this. Yet despite my struggles with figuring out WordPress I would be sad to lose my friend.

This is christyb, I am giving human traits to electronics.

Are you a writer who depends on your computer? Do you have a close relationship with WordPress or other programs? Am I still typing?
