The Time Has Come

I comment on other people’s poetry here and I love it. Reading their words, the flow of the lines, analysing the images.

That being said (or typed) I feel that I should also share one of my own poems with you.

This is christyb this is my first poem on my blog.

This is christyb I’m nervous.

Okay enough of this hesitation. Here goes (hold your breath and jump):

I put on my lip gloss

like I wear a coat,

Lip Gloss

I put on my lip gloss

hoping to shield my lips

like my body

from further contact with you.

It’s not like a plaid raincoat with

sash tied at the waist

(as is the current fashion),

no it’s my lips this time not my body.

I slather the yellow stick onto my lips,

first top then bottom, they are both mine

I beckon the thick wax:

please absorb your sweetness

the taste of your lips against mine.

A shield

a layer of paint

please cover my lips

my body

my memories of you.

YAY! What a wonderful start to my day – Christy has shared a poem with us, and I’m thrilled to have an opportunity to read it! And I really like your poem. I like the allusions of other things – important things – left unsaid but definitely felt by this reader. Well done, Christy, I’m proud of you! (Does this mean we get to see more of your work? And perhaps a little ditty in my humor challenge? – hint, hint) ~ Julie, with a big smile on her face this morning! 🙂

Awe Julie I always look forward to your comments. Thanks for your support, yes I may share more poetry in the future. I am glad you liked it! I have not written humorous poems and yours was so good I didn’t know if I could compete… Keep on smiling Julie 🙂

    ►►►Hello Christy►►►

You don´t even know me now, but we will meet on Google plus in a year.

When that happens, in the future, you´ll be already a keen poet.

As i know what it would happen in the future, cause I have been there i can tell you that you will be publishing a great book called “Pathways to Illumination”.

I´ve already read it and wrote a review of the book…
Still you don´t have written it yet…

Trust me if iItell you that in this poem you are making reference to the main topics of your future book, which healing effects on you would be remarkable…

You´ll get over bad things and wouldn´t be needing shields, because words would set you up straight… (i. e: “A shield/ a layer of paint/ please cover my lips/ my body/ my memories of you”)…

I just wanted to say that I am not a fortune teller, but a future reader who would enjoy your poetry and who would learn through your healing experiences…
You´ll learn and you´ll be stronger.
Besides you´ll be able to fill my heart with poetic words and I´ll be grateful to you in that moment …

As for me, I won´t say goodbye but up soon…
I´ll meet you when the time is right for it to happen.
But, believe me if i tell you that it will happen…

    Aquileana 😉

Aw, Amalia, what a great comment here! This poem was an early one and I have come so far since then. Who knew Pathways to Illumination would be in my future… So many great things have happened since then.

Your fortune teller voice is a great one. We’ll have to do a similar statement in another year… Who knows where we will be then… I DO know that we will be getting even stronger in spirit! Take care, dear friend 🙂

Oh, I ´ve just seen your comment Christy…

You must consider that in order to answer here I had to travel from the future to the past and as you know, that is always a delayed trip

I ´d love to tell you about the past within a year.

It would be like talking about the future from now, but having to return to the past at that moment…

    Such a curious game time, right;

    Sending you love;

    Aquileana 🙂

I know… September 15 th should be considered the birth (or even better, “Dawn”) of a canadian poet and a parfait poetic blog…
(Be a good reminder to me please. I fear the possibility of forgetting it!)

          Hugs, Aquileana 😀

Happy poetic birthday, CDB!. Enjoy it, canadian poet!
I had the date in mind because I remembered it was almost a week before Spring starts here.
Much love to you, Aquileana 😀
