Music Moment: Wish You Were Here

And so the music begins!

Tunes with Tuesday returns to the table. Open your ears, your heart, and take a moment to step away from your busy day.

Wish You Were Here from Incubus is a great rock song. Take away the emotional lyrics and you still have quality guitar and drum beats.

My favorite lines are:

The worlds a roller coaster
And I am not strapped in
Maybe I should hold with care
But my hands are busy in the air saying)

I wish you were here
I wish you were.

I thought it was Pink Floyd’s “Wish you were here”, one of the best all-time acid-rock albums, but this is pretty cute, in an “I ravaged an iconic song” type of way… great review though!

Nice song Christy but Wish you were here always reminds me of Pink Floyd and their best album in my opinion. You should give it a listen some time. Take care. 🙂

So, so you think you can tell
    Heaven from Hell
    Blue skies from pain
Can you tell a green field
    From a cold steel rail?
    A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

Did they get you to trade
    Your heroes for ghosts?
    Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
    Cold comfort for change?
    And did you exchange
A walk on part in a war
For a lead role in a cage?

How I wish, how I wish you were here
    We’re just two lost souls
    Swimming in a fish bowl
    Year after year
Running over the same old ground
    What have we found?
    The same old fears
    Wish you were here

Haha, as soon as I saw this I thought “I wonder if it’s the Pink Floyd song/album, or the Incubus song. I love both though, and I was over the moon when I saw Incubus live earlier this year. 😀

I like the Incubus song, but I’ll join the crowd who first thought of Pink Floyd. But then, I’m an old guy, too. 😀 I know a lot more Floyd than I do Incubus.
