Music Time! Blackbird and a Songbird

spread your wings

How much do I love this song? If you could see me in person, I am opening my arms WIDE! I like this song a lot, a whole wonderful lot.

The song began with The Beatles and now Sarah McLachlan reprises it. I choose to include her version for this Tunes with Tuesday post.

I like that she changes very little about the song, which is simple yet has a powerful message.

“Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise”

Spread your wings and fly – it is never too late to mend them. Fly, fly like you have never flown before!

This is christyb, watching you take flight.

Great song Christy! We enjoyed both of us. I was unaware she also sang “In the Arms of the Angel,” which is probably one song that ALWAYS brings me hope. I simply adore her singing style and voice. Wonderful recording artist. Thanks for sharing this just made my day, so, think I’ll just fly away!

This has been one of my favorites, too, Christy, and I like her version, as well! Thanks for sharing and it’s good to be back and visiting you! I hope you’re doing well and Happy New Year! xoxo
