To Laughing, To Crying, To Friends

Happy day my poetic peeps!
Today, I am pleased to be a guest blogger for the uplifting site Sookton’s Space. Writer Suki features my poem “Even When” in her latest post. I am pleased to be able to post on Suki’s site as it is an inspiring and positive space.
I wrote the poem in tribute to my best friend. Friendship is so important – make sure you give your best friend a hug next time you see him or her!
Love to you all, from christyb xx

Sookton's Space

There’s nothing like the feeling you get when you are around your true friends.

This weekend my friend Allie has been visiting with me from out of state and it is funny how much I didn’t know I missed her until we were side by side. She is quite a few years younger than me but it feels like we are kindred spirits.

From the first time I met her, we just instantly clicked. She brings out the best in me and her energy is always positive and freeing.

Best of all she is a great friend.

Speaking of Friendship I Would Like to Introduce My First Guest Blogger!

You used to always tell me that I always said the right thing just when you needed it. And we could speak to each other with just a passing glance. But today Christy, you have given me just what I needed today. This poem has turned my day around. It was a rough start, but your loving words have pushed me right back up again. Xoxoxoxo

Loved your guest blog and especially your poem on friendships, dear Christy! I also reblogged this on my site. Thanks so much for brightening my Sunday – it was much needed after a particularly brutal couple of weeks! ~ Love and hugs, Julie xoxox

Congrats on the guest post. I am trying to catch up this morning.

My best friend and I have been friends for almost 35 years. Sometimes we go months without talking, just a quick text message “are you okay? Thinking of you!” We have busy lives, children, aging parents, spouses, jobs and the world weighs on us. Yet we always come back around to each other and pick up just where we left off. That I suspect is what friendship is.

Yes, Val, that is exactly what true friendship is. Knowing you are in each other’s thoughts without needing to verbalize that daily. So glad you have wonderful friends – you deserve that!

Beautiful poem with beautiful content. ‘Smile, cry, watch, laugh…put it on repeat’! Your friends are very fortunate to be part of your life. I am sure they value you as much as you value them. Thanks for sharing. LOL.
