Grammys Are On Fire

Did you watch the Grammy Awards a few days ago?

I was on the edge of my seat, as many of my online connections live in other time zones and got to see the program before me. Why is it that I had to be last… It felt a little like when a group of us go out for dinner and I am the last one at the table to receive my meal. Lol – and a gal gets hungry!

There was so much to take in as I watched the show on TV and ate popcorn (cup of hot chocolate on the side). There was a high-energy performance from The Lumineers, Jack White strutted his stuff, and there were cameras all over Frank Ocean.

There are so many musicians – it is an exciting time for music!

The Grammys are known for its unusual music pairings. The 2013 awards show was no exception. My fave one?

The pairing of Maroon 5 and Alicia Keys. The duet is my Tunes with Tuesday pick!

Maroon 5 starts on the stage, singing One More Night and then Alicia Keys joins him for her hit single Girl On Fire. Honestly, the pairing first struck me as, well, a little odd. But as it went on, I found myself loving the way the band combined with Alicia Keys.  I like when she starts off on the drums!

If you missed the duet between Maroon 5 and Alicia Keys at the Grammys, here is a video of the performance:

Have a musically happy Tuesday, ’cause christyb will be too!

Thanks Christy for making this duet your Tuesday posting. I loved it on the Grammy’s…and thanks to you, got to enjoy it again. I also loved it as Alicia Keys came up behind Adam, all you saw was this dark shadow and then her pounding the drums. It was definitely an awesome ‘female’ triumph (I thought).

Hi Sue, thanks for letting me know about the video problem. Looks like the user removed it. I replaced it with a new video that does still play. Hard to keep up with YouTube! Thanks for letting me know 🙂

Didn’t get a chance to catch the Grammy awards, but I appreciate you posting the vid with the duet highlight! (I’m a sucker for unusual pairings when it comes to music, too.)
