Here is a duet for Tunes with Tuesday.
I recently found singer Tyler Ward on YouTube and have now been listening to many of his songs. That’s the sign of a good artist when I want to hear more! It’s like a good book; when you like the work of an author, you seek out other titles from him or her.
Tyler Ward has both original music as well as covers of songs. The song today is a cover of K’NAAN’s Is Anybody Out There? (featuring Nelly Furtado).
I love the pure tones of Tyler Ward’s voice and his harmonies with Alex G in the cover version. The song reminds me of times I have felt alone, even when friends and family stood right there in the same room as me. I felt alone in spirit, as I did not think anyone understood me.
Now, I realize that although these same people may not understand my path, they are there to meet me at the intersections and help me climb over fallen branches. Even if they have not been at the hands of abuse, they understood that my heart is frail and continues to heal. Compassion and arms that surround me for hugs give strength to my sense of self and help me see I am not alone.
Here are a few lines from the song, and then the video follows below. I hope you enjoy the song.
Right now she could really use a shoulder
Hanging onto the edge til it’s over
She’s crying for your love tonight
Lonely is hard to survive, she said
Remember, There are people who care for you, even if they have never walked in your shoes. ~christyb
