Come on now!

How is it that 2014 is really turning out to be such a good year? I think it has to do with my thinking – it really is more positive than last year and my will to continue to write as a career is strong. So another great announcement is the radio interview that Shannon Fisher has kindly invited me to do on Sunday, March 9!

Shannon is a woman I admire for so many reasons. She has such strength as she pursues activism in women’s rights, and dang can that lady write too! I will be the guest for her radio show “The Authentic Women,” part of the Authors on the Air series on BlogTalkRadio.

So, why am I excited? I will have the opportunity to discuss writing and issues so dear to my heart, such as depression. I am thankful for this opportunity.

If you want to catch the show live, it airs on Sunday, March 9 at 8pm EST (5pm PST) at The Authentic Woman – with Host Shannon Fisher & Guest Christy Birmingham. The link takes you to the page and provides you with a little background information too. AND no worries if you can’t make it Sunday as the podcast tapes so you can watch it at any time after that at the same link. I really do love having all of your support and want you to know that.

Also, I can NOT leave today without posting about it being International Women’s Day! How amazing to have a day that celebrates female empowerment. Here here! I wrote a poem in tribute to women, titled Not Satisfied with Settling. I hope that theΒ readΒ of it leaves you realizing how much you can truly accomplish – a lot!

~Many smiles from christyb.

I really enjoyed your interview Christy. You’re right the internet has changed things a lot and allowed people to connect when they might not in person. Listening to you read some of the words still sent shivers down my spine – very powerful. Great interview.

Listening now, Twin, sitting here, just great to hear your voice. AS you say, the best thing about the internet is the sharing, the showing others that whatever you go through, there’s light at the end of the tunnel, and by talking about personal experiences, through poems or blogging, it shows you’re not the only one….you’re part of the ‘whole’ community of life, and here’s a hand to hold and help you through. Still listening as I type this… so I shall finish this comment now and totally concentrate on the whole interview. Sincere congrats on your journey so far.. and may it continue onwards and upwards lovely friend. xPenx

The blog community really is so supportive, and I’m glad that point was made in the interview. Really nice to know you have listened in — it’s amazing how much ground we covered. I’ll take your hand and we’ll continue on as poets, friends and twins xo

I have just listened to the first twenty minutes of your interview and from what I have heard shows me how relaxed you were, not an easy experience but one that you seemed totally at ease with. I must admit that I enjoyed the two of you chatting away, and it is good to hear your voice my sweet friend. I think that you did brilliantly Christy πŸ™‚
