Hello and happy National Poetry Month! Oh heck, who are we kidding?! It’s always poetry time in Parfait land. And here you wondered… Hehe. Today it’s also music time here, and we better get dancing – after all, why wait for the fun to begin? My newest poem is called “Take Me There.” Let’s take a ride together into the town of poems and love; I’ll go first.

Take Me There

Take me to the dance floor and

Swing me around you with caring arms,

Feel my hair touch your shoulder and

My love reach through your plaid shirt.

Pair me with the memories of who I once was, and

Tell me I am a better version of

The woman you’ve seen in photos.

Let’s dust off my shoes and

Take them for a round of steps and turns,

With your arm at my waist and

Knowledge that my wait is finally at its end.

Loved the beautiful poem and the accompanying song. They mixed together so smoothly, like a glass of fine wine accompanied with the finest cheese & crackers.

    Hi Christy ,

Your lines are sensuous and evocative what with the ‘caring arms , hair touching shoulder and love reaching thru plaid shirt’ et al ; to a person in far away mumbai , your words create the visual of you and your partner gently moving on the dance floor . may i compliment you by saying that you are more beautiful than anything of yours that anyone can see in his dream…

    best wishes…
