I am Made: A Poem for Canada Day

Canada Day with lovely flowers

Aha, July 1st is Canada Day and I proudly welcome it! Here is a new poem, “I am Made,” to celebrate the occasion. I’m wishing my Canadian friends a lovely holiday! For all of you wonderful Parfait peeps, I hope you have a nice week ahead full of kindness ((and hugs))!

Oh and remember to take time to smell the flowers, as the saying goes. There’s some Canadian-shaped blooms in the photo above that I want to share with you! I know there are readers here from around the world (I love that) so it’s nice to be able to share a bit of Canada with you all right now. ~Christy

I am Made

I am made of red, white and smiles,
Holding my hand out to a flag that beckons
With the history of a country that fought for
My independence, in red, white and bold.
I am Canadian made.

I am moving through forests and lakes,
Flying high on non-judgmental values and
Non-circular arguments, breathing in tolerance
Rather than condemnation.
I am Canadian made.

When the Canadian flag flies strong in the wind,
So do I, my
Red, white and wall-free soul welcoming
All smiles that light up my path ahead.

Cheers to Canadians, because they are open minded and clever… Also because they speak two official languages in the country, which clearly shows they are multifacetic and diverse… They are confident of who they are, so they don’t need to be presumptuous to stand out…
Best wishes, Christy…Thanks for sharing your words,
    Aquileana 🙂

I’m so glad we’ve met – perhaps not in person – but we’ve met in spirit and I’m overjoyed. 😀
