Awesome Applies to the Blogging World Too

Blogging is awesome

Awesome in the blogging world. Photo via Poetic Parfait.

I just finished reading The Book of (Even More) Awesome by Neil Pasricha. It’s a fun read, full of a ton of short descriptions of awesome things in the world. It made me smile, laugh and think about everyday awesome stuff that happens all around me. Then I realized, awesome applies to the blogging world too.

Yup, that’s you. And you. And you. Bloggers. You rock! So, here are a few of the awesome things about blogging that come to my mind:

☆ That moment when someone leaves you a comment on your post at the exact same moment when you are over at their blog leaving them a comment. Hello, so awesome!

☆ When you have an idea for a blog post and actually have the time to head to the computer and type it out. You know what I mean, right? You’re not in the car, at the grocery store or working. That sweet relief of being able to take those words directly from the mind to the blog post, without any wait time, is totally awesome!

☆ When you see the WordPress notification that you have had more likes in one day than ever before at your blog! Woohoo, celebrate the awesomeness of that milestone!

☆ You find a blog that’s new to you, go through a bunch of the posts (akin to stalking, maybe?) and leave likes, comments and hit the Follow button too. Later that day, you see a notification that the blog’s writer went and did the exact thing for your blog. Okay, totally awesome!

What are some other types of awesome that apply to the blogging world? Feel free to share your awesome thoughts below or write your own post with your list – be sure to link back to this post here so that we can all come and read your lists too!

Hmm, your list is pretty darn good. I like the comment at the same time while on each others blog. That is pretty awesome.
☆ Seeing all the neat things people are doing: art, writing, and coding! It is a lot of fun. I would say music but I really don’t see a lot of musician bloggers.
☆ Being able to have conversations and debates with people and opening up my perspective about the world.
☆ You can interact with the public in a clothing optional dress code.
    ☆ It’s fun! 😀

I can so relate to these! haha that’s always weird when I’m leaving a comment the same time as someone else. Also, there’s nothing wrong with getting caught up on a new blog. (Only a little stalkery) I’ll add, finding someone else who felt the same way as you.

For me, blogging means making a connection with my friends and followers, and it allows me to be me instead of being a writer on articles….and it gives me a chance to meet people like you. 🙂

Hi Christy… the thought of the written word you have created being at the finger tips of the entire world is pretty awesome when you think of it… just like your are right now. To me that means awesome…

I love that people come back again and again to comment on your post – and that you get to know them. The support is awesome as well as the encouragement that bloggers give one another.

I got 157 views on my blog yesterday, a lot of them 2 or several views on a single post. My record was 102 before then. I didn’t even post yesterday! Awesome, but I don’t think I got any likes out of all those, or comments, except for yours I think. Today I’ve had 68 unique visitors, when normally I have between 30 and 40 a day. Also awesome, but only 2 likes today and no comments. Not sure what is going on with my website, but I hope people like what they read even if they don’t want to click like or say so for some reason. o_O

Hi Ry! Your comment section will expand over time as more people find your blog, and make time to venture out to find new blogs too. I try to find a new blog almost every day. It’s fun! Great to read that your stats are getting higher too, which also often comes over time with regularly posting. 🙂

My favorite “awesome” is the friends I’ve made in the blogging world. I spend oodles of time on WordPress catching up on my favorite blogs, and I discover new blogs every day. I’ve met some of the most supportive, entertaining, generous, intelligent people through blogging. If it wasn’t for blogging, I would never have met you, Christy! You’re in an “awesome” category all to yourself.

I’ve experienced that awesome moment when I’m leaving a comment on someone’s blog and at that exact moment they’re leaving a comment on mine. It’s one of those experiences where things turn ethereal in scope and in magnitude!

That is a wonderful topic to write about! Blogosphere is an amiable place, connecting with people sitting far away, all around the globe, making new friends, discussing and knowing their perspective and getting inspired to grow further…it surely is awesome Christy. Thanks for sharing.

I love when I’m leaving a comment on someone’s blog and realize they just left one on mine. We then end up having an online conversation (on two different subjects sometimes!). Great list, Christy.

I like it when someone I haven’t encountered reads a post and begins to “follow” my blog. I check their “about”. And lo and behold I discover a new blog that is a kindred spirit. 🙂

This is an AWESOME blog that I found out in an awesome way by reading a comment from someone who found my blog from one of her follower’s blog, etc. Yes, blogging has opened up my life in wonderful ways, and I love the way you detail those way in your post.

This is, indeed, awesome. I like the one re: getting an idea and actually being able to go to the computer and blog about it! I’d have so many more posts if that always awesomely happened 🙂 Got to hear Neil Pasricha speak this weekend. He too, is awesome.

Power blogger ! I actually find this quite an interesting outlet. Before I would scream at my two dogs….or the neighbour maybe and have it all boil inside, now I can just type it out and share it with the world which is kind of strange by the way. Still there is that part of me that suffers from being shameless….. 😉

Props to this post today, encouraging so you are the true awesome person here

I can Identify with your list but, for me, the top one would be just getting all the thoughts that rumble through my head, especially when I’m walking, out along with the photos I take. Hopefully they will make other people look around and see the snatches of beauty even in the most ordinary day. Of course comments make me smile too 🙂

Great post Christy. Even I think that blogging is awesomeness redefined!
It’s totally awesome to make great friends with whom you can actually chat through comments. Blogging is also awesome because it helps you find like minded people, with whom you can share anything, right from something very smart to something that’s totally maniac… it’s just awesome to be able to communicate with such lovely readers! 🙂 ❤

Christy 0 I love each of your awesome blog items – and agree – and for me – I also think it is so awesome to have little live comment shares – and a few that go back and forth – not too many cos then it loses effect – but it gets even more awesome when you see a side to that blogger (thru the live chat) and it is just enriching.
great post and good day to ya!
