Poetry Book Cover Versions of the Self

Cover Reveal for My Upcoming Book Versions of the Self

OH yes! It’s nearly time for the launch of Versions of the Self.

I can hardly contain myself in sharing with you the book cover for the first time publicly! I will be offering the book in BOTH Kindle and hardcover versions.

Here it is, the front cover for my next poetry book:

I am so pleased with the way it turned out. Thank you to the designers who have helped me. I began by selecting a premade cover by designer Betibup33 of The Book Cover Designer. The paintbrush caught my eye as it relates to the creations (painting) of the self within the book. Such a unique image! How the cover relates to the book will become quite clear when you read the Preface. I found the book covers at this particular site very affordable, and there are many covers to choose from for a range of genres.

Next, I wanted to personalize the book cover with my title Versions of the Self, as well as have a custom designed spine and back cover. That is when I reached out to Apple Blossom Media for those specific cover design services. They were professional, easy to communicate with, reasonably priced, and I highly recommend them for creating your next book cover in a custom design. Here is how the hardcopy book will look:

I am excited to announce that Versions of the Self will be publicly available for sale in May. It will be available on Amazon (eBook), and hardcopy versions will be printed on demand via CreateSpace. I will provide you with all of the link information once the book is available to you.

Many of the poems have never been published before, on this blog or anywhere else. Here is a synopsis of the poetry book Versions of the Self, as read from the back cover:

Imagine a shift to the way you see the world that arises through poetic narration.

Imagine the world, at its base level, is a collection of selves. These selves collide, disperse, intermingle, and share themselves in lines of free verse. Such is the premise of Versions of the Self, poetry that assumes multiple types of selves exist and relate in ways that alter them. Each of the eight chapters looks at a different type of self, including the singular “I” and romantic interactions. These unique 80 poems definitely color themselves outside of the lines.

My next post here will be when the book releases in May!

I thank you in advance for all of your support and encouragement as wonderful friends here in Poetic Parfait-land! ♥

Love Christy

What a great cover! Although I haven’t read the book yet of course, the design of the cover seems to go so well with the idea of many selves and the creation of selves. Bravo and I can’t wait for the release of your new book!

⭐ I have been so looking forward to Christy’s new book! I’ll be ordering a hard copy for my library. As soon as the series I am designing the costumes for is done, I’ll be doing a Graf Style review of it. ⭐

I love your synopsis and how it beautifully integrates with the splashy hues of your cover. It’s interesting how at our base levels we “are” as lively as the colors — and the mood of someone at the base level is ably projected by none other than infants and toddlers who thankfully are yet to be conditioned. But I strongly fear a time may come when children of that age might look at the world not with the kind of innocence they do now. I may be completely out of place here scientifically, but science has only evolved.

When I read your synopsis I pictured a visual in Midtown Manhattan when in the peak hours of crowd movement each individual becomes a world in itself with clear cut borders of their silhouettes. If someone in the crowd happens to smile, the majority will look at him with suspicion — is the reality of the day.

I look forward to your book. I know I haven’t read your first. Will do.

All the best, my friend. Very happy for you!!

Thank you, Mahesh. As I said before, you leave such wonderful comments. The colors of the way we are can be so intriguing and yes that plays into the poetry that will be behind the cover I’ve revealed here. I enjoy your comparison of the cover to Midtown Manhattan – the visual you describe is enticing. You are so creative!
Are you having a nice weekend? I hope so!

Yes, I like the cover. It does two important things – it catches attention because it’s unusual; and it intrigues.

“COVER REVEAL” sounds a bit paradoxical, teasing maybe.

Hey I have read and re-read your first published. What a powerful, moving and stirring used language of emotions. So touch by it. I am so sure the second will be at its best. Hope to purchase one soon. I was caught up with things around me so blogging seem neglected. Take care !
