I’m sorry, what’s that? It’s Tunes with Tuesday, you say? Indeed!

(Insert smiley face here)

I randomly came across this video on YouTube today and have been playing it over and over and… The young lady who sings Mountains, the song of the day on Poetic Parfait, is Gabrielle Aplin.

Gabrielle Aplin’s voice is incredible. It is powerful yet sweet, all at the same time. She is only 20 years old! The English singer has toured across the UK and Ireland. I do hope she comes here to the West Coast of Canada one day!

Below is the YouTube video for Mountains, by Gabrille Aplin. Listen to the delicious song as you read the lyrics below the video.

This is christyb, wishing you calm skies of happiness.

Mountains – Gabrielle Aplin Lyrics

“Mountains”

You wrote me notes on paper bags

You strolled the roads as I turned back

Air was calm the sky was black

You wrote a list of things I lack

We’ve come to realise

We’ve opened up our eyes

‘Cause you’re a mountain I can’t climb yet

And I’m a painting but you’re blinded

I always have to justify how my tongue dances

We’re barely getting by on taking chances

We’ve come to realise

It’s us that we despise

‘Cause you’re a mountain I can’t climb yet

And I’m a painting but you’re blinded

We’ve come to realise

It’s us that we despise

Yeah… we get drawn to certain songs at times …. lately for me, it’s been Landslide by Stevie Nicks… I even used it in one of my posts a couple days ago because it resonated with the subject on which I was writing. Music is magical and healing that way I think 😉

Oh I know that song and yes it has power with the words. I find listening to music motivates me, by both the beat and the lyrics… Wishing you a musically wonderful day, Roxi!

    Hey Christy:

I like most of what you post in your music of the week section, but may I make a slight request? I was just wondering if you could post one of the Electromagnets’ songs next week. They are a very little known band out of the 70s who should have been bigger than so many well known performers. Here is a clip. Hope you enjoy it.

PS, also try checking out Weather Report and Tony Levin’s Life Time.

gosh..this is beautiful. I have had such relationships in my life where I would want that person around and if around…I hate it.

I am happy to say that I am normal now 🙂 Did a lot of soul searching over it…lol

    great work and theme, Christy

Hi Ruchira, thank-you for your thoughtful comment. I am glad to hear you are gaining strength in what you want in a relationship. It’s always good to step back and think about our own directions xx
