Halloween Poem: Heads Roll

Halloween Poem and a Pumpkin

With Halloween just around the corner, I think a fun poem is one to put on the menu. I pair this poem with a plate of eyeballs, vampire fangs and gummy worms. Silliness and poetry can be a fun combination for Halloween!

Heads Roll

You said heads are going to roll
And you were right –
A few of them just rolled right by me!

That was two minutes before the
Vampire opened his mouth to
Take a bite of my neighbor’s neck and
My own blood turned cold.

Should I leave for the evening or
Do you want me to stand by and watch –
I’m wondering if my head is on straight
And how much chocolate I better eat
To start seeing clearly again!

I hope you have a safe and fun Halloween, my friends!

As a happy coincidence , we are all in the midst of festivals and celebrations as the year is hurtling to a close…And what a bubbly poem , chris, to go with Halloween ! here is wishing you happy halloween with my virtual platter of apples , pears , plums , cherries and decorated pumpkins….i am reminded of a song i learnt from an american lady some thirty years ago that goes like this (slightly changed by me to suit the context here)…”A soul ! a soul ! a soul cake ! / please good Missus, a soul-cake ! / An apple, a pear, a plum, or a cherry,/ Any good thing to make us all merry./ One for birmingham, two for christy, / Three for Him who made us all”….

Awwww Raj now I am smiling as I think about that bubbly song you told me about! I love the comparison and totally see why it came to your mind when you visited here! You write wonderful comments, my friend! Enjoy your festivals and celebrations there too 🙂

    loved it ,happy Halloween Christy.
P.s i know turtle necks tops are out of fashion but they would minimize neck exposure unless u prefer to chew on garlic all night during Halloween instead of choco 😛
    Best wishes
